My daughter has been trying to join a cooking club for years.  She was finally signed up for an after-school cooking club when the school burned down.  (True story.)  (Everyone is fine and the school is better than ever, by the way.)

She’s delighted to be in a ‘cookery’ club at her new school here in the UK.  Putting aside my thoughts about a co-ed cookery club but a boys-only rugby and soccer club, I am delighted as well.

She brought home a recipe for ‘choc-chip’ cookies the other day, and decided to try the recipe at home. (You can see her absurdly adorable notes in the photos.)  She did everything on her own while I snuck in photos and marveled at her awesomeness.  (MO-oooooooom, stop taking pictures! Pass me a spoon!)

I present to you:

Year Three Choc-Chip Cookies

100g butter and 100g sugar

Add in 1 egg and 175g flour

Chocolate chips

Rounded spoonfuls to the sheet

10 minutes at 180C and there you are!

The cookies were delicious.  (OK, they needed a pinch of salt, but other than that they were delicious.)  Wonder what recipe she’ll bring home next?

Aw, thanks for the ‘mom’ories, that is beautiful. You never know what they’re going to hold on to, I hope it’s the good stuff — which always includes chocolate!!
